Manchester Michigan First Bank of Manchester $3,$5 & $10 Obselete Currencry Notes. The First Bank of Manchester was a Private Bank establisted by George Howe, President, and James Erwin, Cashier, in 1837, going bankrupt by 1838. They issued $1.00, $3.00, $5.00, and $10.00 paper bank notes in exchange for gold or silver. The bank last only enough to recieve deposits, after which it closed the depositors lost all their deposits. See attached photos as evidence on condition and details.
