Description
This early-production Winchester Model 1897, manufactured in 1909, is chambered in 12 gauge and fitted with a 30-inch barrel choked Modified. Designed by John M. Browning, the Model 1897 was the first successful exposed-hammer pump shotgun and became a mainstay of American sporting and military history. This example features a blued steel receiver with external hammer, grooved walnut slide handle, and matching walnut stock, displaying honest wear consistent with its age and use. A mechanically solid representative of Browning’s pioneering repeating shotgun design. Serial number: 472287.
