Description
Lot of 2-Herend Porcelain Figurines – 1.) Butterscotch Fishnet-Ostrich with 24K gold accents. Mold Figurine #15436 date: 1999. Figure Measures: 6" Long and 4 1/2" Tall. 2.) Green Fishnet-Rooster with 24K gold accents. Mold Figurine #5031 date: unknown. Figure Measures: 5" Long and 5 1/2" Tall. Herend Hvngary Logo on bottom of all Figurines. The famous fishnet decor adorning many of the animals took form in 1858 when a Herend painter become inspired by a fish scale design he saw. He painted a similar pattern onto a rooster figurine to imitate feathers. The rest is history, and the fishnet design is now a Herend signature prized worldwide.
