Description

This is a U.S. Army–issued Smith & Wesson Model 1917 double-action revolver, serial number 95328,

chambered in .45 Government (.45 ACP / .45 Auto Rim). Manufactured during World War I to
supplement the U.S. military’s shortage of M1911 pistols, it features a 6-shot cylinder and a 5.5-inch
barrel. The revolver retains its wartime military configuration with lanyard ring, half-moon front sight,
and smooth action typical of S&W;’s early 20th-century service revolvers.
