Lewis, Sinclair. 1927 Elmer Gantry. First Edition, First Issue, Presentation Copy. New York: Harcourt, Brace, 1927. Has First issue Binding with the “G”(in Gantry) resembling a “C” making it look like Cantry on the Spine of the Nobe Prize-winning Authors Controversial Best Seller and Basis for the Academy Award-winning Film. Original Cloth Cover, no dj, deckled edge. On Title Page is a printed plate that reads:“I am sorry that I am going abroad before there are completed copies of “Elmer Gantry” to inscribe, and I am asking my publishers to send you this copy with my warmest greetings.” With Sinclair Lewis’s Signature. Under the monochrome plate to the left of the title page there is a printing of Sinclair Lewis’s signature and another signature that appears to be in pencil.
