Description
This J.C. Higgins Model 583.14 is a 16-gauge bolt-action shotgun featuring a 26-inch barrel with a 2-3/4 inch chamber and full choke. Sold originally through Sears, Roebuck & Co., the Model 583.14 was manufactured by High Standard and represents one of the better-made bolt-action shotguns of the mid-20th century. It features a hardwood stock with a straight comb, blued metal finish, and a detachable magazine. This example is missing its buttplate but otherwise remains in good mechanical condition.
