Identified as Granville H. Coleman. Enlisted in Company A 30th Michigan Infantry on December 12th 1864, Mustered Dec. 14th 64.’ Became First Sergeant Dec. 23′ 64,’ discharged to accept promotion May 10 65,’ commissioned Second Lieutenant April 7 65′ and mustered may 11th. Mustered out at Detroit Michigan on June 30th 1865. This 1/4Plate Measures 3.25"x4.25." ALTHOUGHT THE OLD TYPED LETTER SAYS THE 13th, CORRECT UNIT IS THE 30th, as marked on back of this photograph and confirmed in his regimental records.
