Lot of 3-Herend Porcelain Figurines – 1.) 24K Gold Fishnet-Laying Foal – Day One Charter member Collectors Piece, April 25, 1998. Mold Figurine #15451 date: 1998. Figure Measures: 3 1/4" Long and 2" Tall. 2.) 24K Gold Fishnet- Laying Giraffe – Herend Guild Member Piece. Mold Figurine #15471 date: 1999 Figure Measures: 2 1/4 long and 3 1/2" Tall. 3.) Black Fishnet Ram with 24K gold accents. Mold Figurine #15559 date: 1997. Measures: 4" Long and 4 1/4" Tall. Herend Hvngary Logo on bottom of all Figurines. The famous fishnet decor adorning many of the animals took form in 1858 when a Herend painter become inspired by a fish scale design he saw. He painted a similar pattern onto a rooster figurine to imitate feathers. The rest is history, and the fishnet design is now a Herend signature prized worldwide.
